Chiropractic and Sinus Headache

A sinus headache is primarily caused by sinusitis, the swelling of the sinuses. Your sinuses are small, air-filled cavities behind your cheekbones and forehead. When they get swollen, usually because of a reaction to an allergy, they bulge, make more mucus, and the passage that drains them can get obstructed. The accumulation in your sinuses causes pain that feels like a headache.  You can also get sinusitis from hypersensitivity or the common cold.

People who are between 18 to 45 years old are likely to get sinusitis. You can have acute or chronic sinusitis. Chronic sinus conditions can be painful, but chiropractic treatment may be able to help.  In fact, many medical practitioners turn to chiropractic for relieving their patients’ sinus headache.

Sinus Headache Symptoms

You will feel a recurring pain in the bridge of your nose, forehead, and cheekbones.  The ache often gets intense when you move your head swiftly. You may also have other sinus symptoms, like:

–    A runny nose

–    Feeling of fullness in your ears

–    Inflammation in your face

Migraines, tension headaches, or other kinds of recurring chronic headaches are often confused for sinus headaches.  It is important to know if your symptoms are caused by sinuses since the treatment you need depends on what kind of a headache you are experiencing. If you are having a fever, it is likely that you have a sinus blockage that is caused by an infection.

Sinus Treatment

The chiropractor may check if it is required to adjust your facial bones, and if so, they can help recover the proper drainage in your sinus. An out of alignment vertebra in your neck can also cause harm in your sinuses as well.  Once these obstacles are removed, your sinuses may be able to drain more efficiently and the pressure will be improved.

If you have chronic sinus issues, chiropractic treatment can also be a defensive therapy. You may be able to quicken sinus drainage and keep the accumulation of mucus if you can improve the signals from the nervous system to your respiratory system connected to your sinuses.

This is the treatment for the sinus problems that chiropractors think about.  Chiropractors treat the root cause rather than just the indication you are going through in an attempt to end your sinus trouble.

Chiropractic and Sinus Headache

Strong, open sinuses are lined with a tacky mucus to make sure that air that goes into the lungs is warm, and free from pollutants.  When the filters are not present, the blood, lungs, and kidneys can turn out to be infused with toxins.

Many experience this condition during fall, where mildew, pollen, and mold allergies are present.

When the placement of the vertebrae is off, the muscles that stick to them can enlarge and close off the lymphatic passage of the head and neck.

If you suffer from sinus issues, give Beyond Wellness Chiropractic Center a call.  Our chiropractor may be able to offer you a drug-free treatment and help you find the true relief.
